After retiring from the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, Schirn turned his interest toward some of the most notorious cases in Southern California history. Through the use of the Public Records Act, he was granted unprecedented access to some of the most famous case files in the District Attorney’s Office. He was able to glean previously unknown information, not just from the trials of noted murderers and criminals, but from their backgrounds and pasts.
